Girls and boys are ranked separately in every age group. The category comes automatically from the year of birth, you do not choose one when you enter.

what each race asks of you
Starting from a 2 metre high ramp, the racer passes 5 breakaway gates to the finish, with 8 to 10 metres between gates.
Starting from an SX start gate, the course adds rollers, a jump and a tunnel between the breakaway gates, with a minimum gate distance of 5 m.

points you can score at a race
Placings count within the category and gender. Snow races award full points, dry slope races award half.
After 15th place the score drops by one point on snow and half a point on the dry slope, down to 30th place. No start means no points. A racer who does not finish or is disqualified scores 0 at that race, but the start still counts.

champion of the season
Points from the races add up. To be ranked in the overall standings a racer needs starts at a minimum of two races, and a zero counts as a score too. The overall prize giving is on the last race day: the first three in every age group and gender receive an overall trophy.
clubs against each other
A team needs at least 5 racers. Every point of every team member adds up, even from a racer who started at a single race. There is no upper limit on team size, but a racer scores for one team only and cannot switch during the series: results go to the club given at entry. The winning team takes home the challenge cup, places two to six receive a certificate.
The first three in every age group and gender receive a trophy and a certificate, from fourth place everyone gets a certificate and a custom medal. Every race has its own prize giving.
On snow races the lift pass is a separate cost, we confirm the price a few days before the race. Parents and companions buy their own tickets at the ticket office.
Entry closes 48 hours before the start of every race, there is no entry on site. We take up to 150 racers per race, and entry closes once a race is full.
If you cancel more than 48 hours before the start, the fee stays as credit and you can use it for a later race of the same type. Within 48 hours, and for a no show, the fee is not refunded. Once a race is full (150 racers) there is no cancellation either: whoever entered pays, because nobody else can take that place.
what every racer and parent should know
Helmet and ski brake+
A helmet and ski brakes are compulsory for every racer.
National team racers+
Racers on the Hungarian alpine junior national team may not start in the HÓMENŐK series. The current list is published by the Hungarian Ski Federation.
Skiing the course alone+
In the entry level age groups only enter a child who can ski the whole course alone, without a parent or coach alongside.
Choice of slope+
At the latest 24 hours before each race day we announce which slope the race runs on, based on the expected snow and the condition of the slopes.
Course inspection+
Course inspection is allowed with a bib only. During inspection it is forbidden to link turns between two gates on the race course, or to practise turns next to it.
Proof of year of birth+
Every racer keeps a document proving the year of birth (student card, ID card) at hand during the race and must be able to show it on request, even in the start. Without proof the racer can be disqualified.
Protest+
Protests are possible at snow races and may be lodged by team leaders. They go to the race director in writing, with a protest fee of 100 euro, which is refunded if the protest is upheld. The protest window is 15 minutes after the last finisher.
Breaking the rules+
Breaking any rule leads to disqualification. If it happens repeatedly, the whole club can be excluded from that race.
FIS rule book+
In every question this set of rules does not cover, the current FIS rule book applies.
Insurance+
Every racer needs their own health and accident insurance that also covers ski racing. For races abroad it has to be valid abroad as well.
Medical plan+
After an accident the organisers follow the medical plan: closing the course, first aid, calling the emergency services, and calling the emergency contact given at entry. Read the plan before you enter. Medical plan
Official channel+
The organiser’s main information channel is the HÓMENŐK Kupa Facebook group. We publish the details of each race there a few days beforehand.
Photos and video+
By entering you agree that photos and video may be taken of the racer at the event, and that the organiser may use them freely for promotion.
Cancelling a race+
The organiser may cancel a race up to the last moment if conditions outside their control (extreme weather, poor snow) make a safe event impossible.
Liability+
Everyone at the race (racer, coach, spectator, official) takes part at their own risk. The organisers accept no liability for accidents at the race or for damage caused to others.
